Biography & Metadata
Hrutul is a 28 year old storyteller from Ahmedabad, India, working across film direction, lyric writing and composition. His most recent body of work is YOUFORIA chapter पाथ, a HEXAIMMERSIVE visual concert billed as the first of its kind in the world, built around spiritual stories drawn from Indian history and interpretative mythology, examined through a capitalistic lens. The concert brought together seventeen songs from his #100weeks100songsChallenge, a two year project spanning 2022 to 2024 in which he set out to write and release one hundred original songs across one hundred weeks, moving through different genres and languages along the way. The challenge became a wide ranging exploration of emotion and philosophy, touching on mythology, capitalism, spiritualism, history, physics, science fiction and human psychology. Hrutul graduated from Whistling Woods International in 2018 and went on to direct his debut Gujarati feature film in 2019, becoming Gujarat's youngest film director at the age of twenty one. As a composer, he has recorded original work with some of the industry's most respected voices, including Sonu Nigam, Mohit Chauhan, Aditya Gadhvi, Kirtidan Gadhvi, Jigardan Gadhvi, Tushar Joshi and Parthiv Gohil. Across film and music, Hrutul's work returns again and again to the same instinct: taking ideas that feel too large to hold, myth, faith, systems of power, the nature of time, and finding the human story hiding inside them.
