Taba Chake

Taba Chake is an Indian finger-style guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and multilingual singer-songwriter. Known for his soulful blend of folk, indie, and contemporary sounds, he rose to prominence with tracks like “Aao Chalein,” “Shaayad,” and “Walk With Me” from his acclaimed debut album Bombay Dreams (2019). Writing in multiple languages, including his native Nyishi dialect, Hindi, Assamese, and English—Chake is celebrated as the first artist from Arunachal Pradesh to compose and release Nyishi songs on global streaming platforms. Chake began his independent career in 2012, releasing his first EP Bond With Nature in 2016. His breakthrough came three years later with Bombay Dreams, a 10-track project that established him as one of the most original voices in India’s indie music scene. Over the years, he has graced some of the country’s most prestigious stages, including Ziro Festival of Music, NH7 Weekender, Axean Festival, Royal Enfield Motoverse 2023, and the Arunachal GI Mahotsav 2025 in New Delhi, inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein. His music is deeply philosophical, often weaving themes of introspection, self-realization, and interconnectedness with nature and the universe. With poetic lyrics and minimalist yet profound melodies, Chake’s compositions invite listeners to rediscover forgotten aspects of the inner self while creating a space for emotional resonance and reflection.
