Denver, CO based melodipsych shoegazers originally founded by producer/guitarist/vocalist Ryan Policky, guitarist Erik Jeffries, drummer Gabriel Ratliff & original bassist Enoc Torraca in 2005, with the lineup morphing numerous times through the years. A sound diving into prog shoegaze, combining lush sampled textures, vocals layered like a synth, with massive drumming similar in vein to acts such as Mew, Sigur Rós as mixed by the aura of Dead Can Dance. "Best Nu-Gaze"in 2006 Westword awards and singles featured in FILTER MAGAZINE, PASTE, XLR8R & VICE.. Over the following 20 years ASD has churned out numerous releases under their own label (Latenight Weeknight Records), working with legends such as Ulrich Schnauss, Mark Kramer and Mark Gardener over those two decades. In the 2010's they landed on a compilation for Rocket Girl Records for a song written while Ryan visited Ulrich in Leytonstone entitled "London", which landed on the 3..2...1... A Rocket Girl compilation and have also remixed a song by Engineers. In 2023, Mark Gardener of legendary shoegazing band Ride met with ASD, and has since helped in the writing and production of three tracks on the 2024 release "Whitelined" with further help in the writing & production of two more tracks featured on the 2026 album "To Where They Have Gone".
