Biography & Metadata
Omar Andrés Ruiz Gordon, known artistically as DREILU, is an Ecuadorian artist, producer, and visionary storyteller who is paving his own path in the Latin music industry. Hailing from Guayaquil, Ecuador, DREILU has spent years blending his roots with global influences, creating a soundscape that bridges cultures and genres. His music fuses elements of reggaetón, bomba, Jersey club, Afrobeat, and techno with deeply personal narratives, showcasing his versatility as both a producer and songwriter. DREILU's journey began as a self-taught musician, using songwriting as an emotional outlet after the loss of his grandfather. This profound connection to music grew into a lifelong passion, leading him to leave Ecuador in 2019 on a 100% scholarship to study music production in Atlanta. Over the years, his dedication and talent have earned him recognition in the Latin music scene. His early collaborations in Medellín, Colombia, with industry icons like Kensel Tell Them and La Industria Inc., helped solidify his presence as an emerging latent in Latin urban music. Tracks like "En Medallo Me Quedo" and "Cancún" resonated across Latin America, with Cancún even landing on Spotify's Mint Latin playlist. Now based in Miami, DREILU was named one of Billboard Latin’s "On the Radar" artists in 2024. With his debut EP 999 and a growing catalog of music, DREILU is carving out his place as a leading figure in the next wave of Latin music talent.
