DJ Romanto is a veteran DJ, producer, and sonic storyteller with a career that spans over 30 years. Known for his signature blend of Nu Disco, Funk, Soul, House, and Breakbeat, Romanto delivers dancefloor energy with musical depth — always soulful, always groovy. His journey began in 1992 behind the decks and quickly evolved into a studio career that took off with the underground hit Smilin’ Faces in 1996, co-produced with Out Of The Drum (Mario Zerfass). The track gained traction in both Germany and the UK and opened the door to global recognition. In 1998, he released his debut album Agent Style on Kosmo/BMG, followed by standout singles like Play It Again, From Da Backyard, and When I’m With You. His productions have appeared on high-profile compilations including Ministry of Sound, Global Underground, and have been played by international DJs across Europe and beyond. Romanto’s live history includes performances at top-tier festivals and events such as the Loveparade, MTV Air & Style Festival, Rave & Cruise, as well as being support act for Jamiroquai on their Synchronized Tour. He’s graced club stages in Berlin, Ibiza, Amsterdam, Barcelona, and more. His DJ sets are vibrant and versatile, drawing from classic soul and disco while pushing modern house and electronic grooves. Vocals are a key part of his sound, with collaborations featuring legends like Michael Marshall (I Got 5 On It, Timex Social Club) and Eddie Greene.
