Biography & Metadata

Alyson Greenfield is a multi-disciplinary artist whose music crosses folk, electro-pop, and hip-hop. Press has called her sound "wonderful experimental indie-songstress" (BUST) and "eclectic" (AM New York). She has shared the stage with NPR Tiny Desk winner Gaelynn Lea, beatboxing legend Rahzel, and actress/rapper Awkwafina. Her work has been featured on Fox, Lifetime, AOL, WNYC, Teen Vogue, The New York Times, The New Yorker, HuffPost, LA Examiner, and Glamour. Her music has appeared in the films Conception (Tribeca Film Festival), Super Sleuths (SXSW World Premiere), and The American Templars (Amazon), for which she composed the full score. Greenfield was one of the first five artists selected to record at Converse's Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn, where she recorded "Uncharted Places." The single's music video, directed by David Franklin (Macklemore, Ed Sheeran), became a semifinalist in the International Songwriting Competition. In 2023, Greenfield launched her hip-hop persona ALY G, spitting rapid-fire rhymes about gentrification, misogyny, and feminism and collaborating with Grammy-nominated producer Baby Paul (Nas, J Dilla, Kanye West) and Jon Blok. Her debut single "Build It Up" has streamed over 230,000 times on Spotify. Greenfield is also the founder of The New York Times' recognized Tinderbox Music Festival, which showcased more than 100 emerging female musicians while raising funds for NYC nonprofits empowering young women.
