Biography & Metadata

Having established a reputation as one of the most versatile and respected producers in the game, with over a decade at the forefront of UK bass music – spanning UKG, grime, bassline and drum & bass – Flava D needs no introduction. A self-proclaimed fan of Hospital Records from the age of 14, the first drum & bass CD she ever bought being Hospital Mix Vol. 1, her debut drum & bass album Here & Now marks a particularly paramount milestone for the Bournemouth-born beatmaker. After a decade of ascent, including standout Hospital releases like ‘Do U Want Me,’ Fluent (ft. Emz) and ‘All We Ever Do’ (ft. DRS & Paige Eliza) – Flava D’s signature sound is now deeply embedded in the DNA of UK dance music. Her technical finesse and instinctive selection have cemented her status as one of the scene’s most trusted and forward-facing tastemakers, as she has stamped her sound on projects reserved for god-tier DJs – signing her name amongst the limited alumni of world-famous nightclub fabric by mixing the 88th edition of their FABRICLIVE series. In addition to her worldwide bookings, Flava D has curated diverse lineups for her own headline shows with a 13-week residency at London’s XOYO whilst her tastemaking was broadcast on a national scale with a six-month residency on BBC Radio 1. Now, with Here & Now, she levels up once again, channeling years of dance floor know-how into a project that’s as weighty as it is emotionally dialled-in.
