Refestramus is a progressive hard rock band from Chicago, led by drummer and songwriter Derek Ferguson. Drawing on the theatricality of Van der Graaf Generator, the grit of Crack the Sky, and the epic scope of classic '70s prog, they make albums that feel like short films — literate, cinematic, and funny in ways you don't expect. Their debut "Decoupage" (2021) fused progressive rock with Romani folk, flamenco, and Slavic traditions. "Intouríst" (2024, Melodic Revolution Records) locked in a core band and charted in the Top 20 of the Jam Bands radio charts. Their latest, "Morri's Rock Boutique" (2026, Melodic Revolution Records), is a surreal desert-western dreamscape featuring David Jackson of Van der Graaf Generator, guitarist Rick Witkowski of Crack the Sky, and violinist Joe Deninzon of Kansas.
