Biography & Metadata
In February 2026, Kingswell released “Hummingbird”, recorded live in Canada with producer and drummer Joshua Van Tassel — a raw, intimate recording capturing the warmth and immediacy of his evolving sound. “Hummingbird” is the lead single from his forthcoming fifth studio album, expected summer 2026. Australian-born, UK-based singer-songwriter Nick Kingswell has built a career on sharp storytelling and melodic craft. His fourth studio album, Run To Space (2024), marked a creative high point, with lead single “Pick You Up” revealing new emotional maturity and follow-up “Always” — a reflection on parenthood — earning Track of the Week on BBC Introducing (UK). In 2025, Kingswell returned to his narrative roots with “Pictures of the Moon”, the first in a series of story-led releases highlighting his gift for character and detail. Raised on Phillip Island on a soundtrack of Dylan, Cohen and classic country, Kingswell won The Road to Tamworth in 2006, recording in Nashville for Sony BMG — his single “Hope For Me Yet” reaching #1 on CMC Australia. A sought-after guitarist, he has performed with artists including Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy before relocating to London and establishing himself internationally. With four studio albums released and a fifth on the way, international touring, TV placements (Neighbours, Home and Away), and a reputation for thoughtful songwriting, Kingswell continues carving out his place as a modern folk artist with classic roots.
