Ryan Aotani

Ryan Aotani is a 22 year old Boston resident born and raised in New York City. He has been singing since preschool while participating in the church choir, singing in off broadway productions in middle school and singing songs he wrote for years. “I wanted this album to show the sides of me I personally felt I was socially allowed to express. I wanted this record to be an unfiltered and raw representation of me. I grew up in a strict household so I never was able to express myself and how I really felt at times, this record is the closest to that I’ve ever been able to.” 
 Aotani sites a wide range of artists like Olivia Rodrigo with personal lyrics to Britney Spears's catchy dance production to even Broadway soundtracks with powerful and dramatic melodies. Other influences of his include Madison Beer, Doja Cat and Charli XCX. 
 His newest single The Apple shows the pain of betrayal from someone he used to trust. "I was thinking, how could someone who I trusted so much be so careless with my heart? That pain and that process of trying to move on inspired The Apple . My life felt like a whole new chapter after that happened.”
