Over a decade of clubland adventures has established Rony Rex as one of Finland’s top dance music tastemakers. Known for his lighthearted approach, the Helsinki-based DJ, producer, and radio host does things a little differently — whether it’s playing a set while taking a cold plunge, having a cow named after him, or going back-to-back with reindeer. Championing a sound that has developed into an exploration of house mixed with a rich assortment of club and bass music, while flirting with aesthetics of indie dance and hyperpop, Rony is, it’s fair to say, onto something. While he may be best known for curating and delivering joyful, high-energy performances in the land of a thousand lakes, Rony hasn't shied away from reaching out to the world, having numerous international collaborations with electronic and alt-pop figures such as girli, Ravenna Golden, なかむらみなみ, TT The Artist, GFOTY, Carla Monroe, Madge and Dances, bolstered with continued global DJ support from industry heavy-hitters like Diplo, Fatboy Slim, and Anna Lunoe on BBC Radio 1, Triple J and SiriusXM. Resonating beyond the clubs, brands including Yves Saint Laurent and Stella McCartney have picked up Rony's music on the regular.
