Brett Edmiston first began writing music at 16 before eventually adopting the name Meyta — meaning purpose. After surviving a life-threatening kidney rupture at 15, a near-fatal overdose at 19, and being hit by a car in 2026 while walking through a crosswalk, music inevitably became more than an escape — it became a mission: to create something that makes people feel seen, understood, and inspired to keep moving forward. Blending raw vulnerability with anthemic production, Meyta creates songs that feel like survival anthems — capturing the tension between hopelessness and purpose, isolation and healing, fear and faith. Every release exists inside a bigger story — one centered around resilience, meaning, and the belief that even in our darkest moments, hope is not a fantasy.
