Biography & Metadata
Nigel Braddock is a Berlin-based musician who composes atmospheric neoclassical piano pieces. He has written for dance, theatre and film. Born in the south of Southland in the South Island of New Zealand (ie quite south), one of his earliest memories is being bitten quite hard on the finger by a penguin. Once his finger healed, he learnt to play piano from the age of five and ended up studying piano performance at Otago University. In 2000 he set up indie record label, Monkey Records, in Auckland and spent the following years producing albums, touring with bands and djing at various festivals. In 2019, some ninety releases later and now based in Berlin, Braddock made the decision not to sign any more artists to his label and only to release his own creative endeavours. The release of his solo piano material sees him coming full circle back to his roots as a musician. Braddock is greatly inspired by Nils Frahm, Max Richter, Hania Rani and Ludvico Einaudi amongst others. His other musical projects are Broad Oak, Cosmo and the Cosmonaut (with his son), The Mung Beings and Choam Nomsky.
