Biography & Metadata

SUHO is a member and leader of the K-pop boy band EXO, which is derived from ‘EXOPLANET’, a term denoting to planets outside the solar system. After making their anticipated debut in April 2012, EXO was considered the “biggest K-POP boy band in the world”. Forbes noted their immense popularity on its “Korea Power Celebrity List”, which named them one of the Top 5 K-pop groups in 2014, 2017, and 2018. EXO’s first album XOXO (2013), containing the breakthrough hit “Growl (2013)”, was a critical and commercial success. It sold over 1 million copies, making them the first million-selling Korean artist in 12 years. Their subsequent releases also had strong sales, with all studio albums each selling more than 1 million copies. In 2018, the group released Don’t Mess Up My Tempo (2018) which became their highest charting-album on the US Billboard 200 debuting at number 23, and their best-selling album to date with over 1.9 million copies sold in Korea. In addition to EXO’s remarkable success – with chart-topping ‘million-seller’ albums, world tours, and a historic performance at the 2018 Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony – SUHO has established himself as an acclaimed solo artist, beginning with his 2020 debut solo album, Self-Portrait. He released its follow-up, Grey Suit, receiving praise for his unique vocal charms and musical sensibility.
