Biography & Metadata

Respected by DJs and the cognoscenti alike, Kenny Summit is one of the great unsung heroes of the house music scene, getting his start as a 16 year old resident DJ for legendary New York clubs like Limelight, Tunnel and Palladium. Since those auspicious beginnings, Summit has released music on Sony, Atlantic, Defected, Classic Music Co, Armada, CR2, Robsoul, Nervous among others, and remixed the likes of Ariana Grande, Kylie Minogue, Diana Ross, Calvin Harris, Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin and Madonna, attaining countless Billboard dance and Traxsource #1s along the way. "You had to be there. He played cuts by A Tribe Called Quest, Patrice Rushen, Stevie Wonder and David Byrne in the same set with Adonis, Moloko, Laurent Garnier, Orbital and Derrick May, somehow melding it all together in a way that had the crowd going ape-shit-crazy. Kenny Summit is something special. Where has he been hiding?". -DJ Mag "Kenny practically lives in the studio, and talks about drum machines and keyboards like most parents talk about their children." -Mixmag "I absolutely love Kenny's practical approach to production; staying true to the original vocals with his remixes, always putting the dancefloor first." -Frankie Knuckles
