Rumii Reiigns

Bafana Samuel Marumoagae well known as Rumii Reiigns is a genre-bending South African rapper, songwriter known for blending hard-hitting punchlines with indigenous rhythms influences. Raised in the vibrant township streets of Klipgat(Mabopane), Rumii Reiigns grew up surrounded by street cyphers, church choirs, and local talent shows—elements that shaped his unique lyrical style and musical identity. From an early age, Bafana found comfort in music as an escape from the challenges of township life. Inspired by global icons like Kanye West, The Weeknd, Mandoza, and Lil Durk—and rooted in the soundscapes of HipHop and RnB—he began writing rhymes at age 13. His breakout came in 2023 with a viral freestyle titled “Mphakathi Kao fela”, which racked up over 150 000 of streams on Youtube and introduced his raw storytelling and clever punchlines to the world. His debut EP, Raising Rumii Reiigns and the Deluxe version(2025), showcased his versatility with introspective tracks, party-ready anthems, and socially conscious lyrics tackling identity, ambition, and youth struggles. Following its success, he launched the movement “D2R,” promoting creativity, youth empowerment, and hustler mindset culture.
