The Parisian duo DOPAMOON, composed of producers Francesca Veneziana and Virgile Allien, unveils their third album—an atypical work in the all-digital era, largely crafted in their Bastille-based studio. At the heart of their creative process lies carefully selected vintage gear: Fender Telecaster and Jazzmaster guitars, a Fender Jazz Bass, a MusicMan tube amp, and a multitude of world percussions gathered during their travels. These instruments form the foundation of a sound that stays true to the acoustic, the organic, and above all, the live experience. Because this dance music album stands out with a rare characteristic: zero synthesizers, zero MIDI—everything is played and recorded live. A bold choice that gives the work a vibrant, timeless, and genuinely analog character, going almost entirely against the production standards of the last forty years. The bass almost becomes a guitar, so melodic is its nature, while the guitar takes on unusual roles, sometimes evoking a synth or a voice. The instrumental playing defies conventions, far from standard "rock" codes, to offer a rich, free-spirited organic electro: a human, musical, and inimitable manifesto.
