Vera Blue Modern Rituals, the new album from Australian artist Vera Blue (Celia Pavey), is her most ambitious and expansive work to date. Blending influences that span Madonna, Nine Inch Nails, Aurora and Enya, the record moves effortlessly through electronica, industrial dance and shimmering pop, all anchored by Celia's unmistakable voice. Written between Los Angeles and Australia alongside an impressive roster of collaborators, Modern Rituals marked a turning point for Celia. Throughout the creative process, she realised that her stage persona, Vera Blue, and her off-stage self were not separate identities, but two parts of the same whole. The album became an exploration of that discovery. Opening track Rituals introduces the album's emotional depth, while Brittle Wings examines inner conflict and Maze reflects on the human tendency to return to familiar patterns, even when they no longer serve us. Singles Go Lucky and In The Corner showcase the album's dynamic sonic range, from euphoric, dance-driven pop to darker, atmospheric soundscapes. Closing track Parallel Desire, brings the journey to a haunting close, capturing the raw emotion and self-reflection that defines the record. With over 500 million streams, 12 ARIA Gold and Platinum accreditations, multiple ARIA Award nominations, and five sold-out national tours, Vera Blue has become one of Australia's most celebrated artists, continuing to push the boundaries of her artistry with every release.
