Typical Light

Bienvenue! *|| NEW SINGLE: Cheek To Cheek (SSLy Scout Dub Remix) - Out Now!! ||* Hailing from Paris, France, Typical Light creates dreamlike, cinematic synthpop. The duo of Hélène (vocals, synthesizer) and Hakim (vocals, guitar, bass, drums, synthesizer), melded their musical influences to create their own unique sound. “Chillpop,” as described by H1 Massive CEO John Eye. In 2020, the duo joined forces over their mutual love of indie pop, rock, and shoegaze. Their first EP SWEET was noticed immediately by French magazine KR Home Studio, because of their catchy melodies and the way Hakim and Hélène weave their silky vocals together. Hakim began playing the piano and guitar at 10 years old. “My parents exposed me to a lot of music when I was young, and I wanted to be like the artists they listened to.” Hélène describes herself as “not a musician, but music has always been a passion for me. I worked as a cultural journalist for several years. Making music was a fantasy before it became real with Typical Light.” Their new album IMAGINARY RIDE, set for release August 25 2023, will deliver a sincere, intense, and fun dream pop experience; taking them far beyond the French underground.
