Biography & Metadata
From their humble beginnings above Belfast’s Limelight club to international acclaim, Unquiet Nights have remained true to their Rock roots while pushing musical boundaries in all kinds of directions. Starting as the moniker for guitarist Luke Mathers' musical output, he recruited former band member Rodger Firmin on drums, and Francesco Piciucchi on keys and bass. The band's three albums to date underline their credentials as the genre-bending shapeshifters they are. Perhaps best known for the acoustic-folk sounding "George Best City", often used to soundtrack broadcasts by Sky Sports 1, other keys tracks pull in different directions altogether while still sound unmistakably Unquiet Nights. "Four Winds" is a sleek, dance-pop influenced gem, while the garage rock of "Diamond and the Missing Son" displays the band's roots perfectly. Third album "Seasons In Exile" was released in 2024, having been recorded in the band's Credential Sound recording studio. It was was a full length concept album in tribute to Luke's love of progressive rock bands like Genesis. "Seasons in Exile" was a breakthrough, making many "Best of 2024" lists, and gaining 103,000 listeners on Spotify during the year of release.
