Biography & Metadata

Moonfish is: Maria Chiara Argirò - Piano/Synths/Electronics Riccardo Chiaberta - Drums/Bass Synth/Electronics Moonfish brings together an eclectic mix of piano, keyboards, synths, drums, bass synth, and electronics. Both Maria Chiara and Riccardo are key figures in London's vibrant jazz and electronic scene, having collaborated with artists like Jono McCleery, Rosie Turton, Jamie Leeming, Dugong, and These New Puritans. Their music is a rich blend of piano, synths, and layered rhythms. Debut singles Drop of Water and Insomnia combine moody electronic textures with jazz influences, while tracks like Mahi Mahi and Nest of Giants delve into hypnotic melodies, dreamy electronics, and driving beats. Endless Dive highlights mesmerizing piano lines, ethereal tones, and a steady, captivating pulse. Released in autumn 2024, the EP Leaving features five original tracks alongside a haunting rendition of Portishead’s The Rip. The EP seamlessly fuses jazz, alternative rock, and electronic elements, elevated by a horn section featuring Alex Hitchcock, Rosie Turton, and Rich Muscat. Textural, experimental arpeggios intertwine with piano and synths on their latest release, Komorebi. The title – meaning "sunlight leaking through trees" – was inspired by Wim Wenders' Perfect Days.
