Deadlock

Deadlock are one of Germany's pioneering melodic death metal and metalcore bands. Formed in 1997 in Schwarzenfeld, Bavaria, the band became known for their unmistakable fusion of crushing riffs, soaring melodies, electronic textures and the dynamic interplay between harsh screams and clean female vocals. With acclaimed albums such as *Earth.Revolt*, *Wolves*, *Manifesto*, *Bizarro World*, *The Arsonist* and *Hybris*, Deadlock left a lasting mark on the modern metal scene and built a loyal international fanbase. Following several years of silence, Deadlock returned in 2024 with "Blackest Black", welcoming back original vocalist Sabine Scherer alongside founding guitarist Sebastian Reichl. In 2026, the band unveiled a powerful new lineup featuring Dave Grunewald (ex-Annisokay) on vocals, Maximilian Tofelde (ex-Walking Dead On Broadway) on guitar, Stephan Kronzucker (ex-Necrophagist) on bass and Alexander Finzl (ex-Ingrimm) on drums. Their new single "Persephone Is Dead" marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, combining the band's signature sound with renewed energy and a fresh creative vision. With a brand-new album in the works and Deadlock's 30th anniversary approaching in 2027, the next era of the band has officially begun.
