S.U.N. Project

S.U.N. Project is a legendary psychedelic goa trance act from Germany, founded in 1996 by Marco Menichelli, Matthias Rumöller and Maik "McCoy" Hinkelmann. Raised in the cradle of rock'n'roll, guitarist Matthias, bassist Marco and drummer Mike McCoy were captivated by psychedelic trance and the vibe it provides in the early 90s. Combining the atmosphere of a live band with the hypnotic power of psytrance, their distinctive sound has contributed significantly to the underground scene since its formation. S.U.N. Project's music often features psychedelic trance accompanied by heavy metal guitars. Examples of guitar sounds include the songs "Dance Of The Witches" and "380 Volt". However, they have also produced tracks without any guitars at all. Examples include the track "Hangin' Around" and the almost ambient "From Dusk Till Dawn". In autumn 2011, McCoy left S.U.N. Project and started his solo project, McCoy´s SUN PROJECT. Marco and Matthias continue to produce and perform under the name S.U.N. Project, often with Björn Kempcke as drummer. Barely, any other Psy-Trance act approaches this motto in such a straight way like S.U.N. Project. Countless releases and performances around the world have made their live project a prime example of innovation in the electronic scene, with hand-played instruments, exotic costumes and pyrotechnic shows. Definitely, S.U.N. Project one-of-a-kind sound has been an integral part of the musical evolution of the psychedelic trance scene.
