Oppstøt

Oppstøt is a one-man punk rock project run by Ståle Lysne, alongside his pop-punk solo band Lysne . The idea came about around 2015, but no music was recorded or released until late 2019/early 2020. The first release was a cover version of the Misfits song "Some Kinda Hate." The main focus and philosophy of this project is to maintain the good old DIY punk rock spirit: record, release, and promote the music without breaking the bank or being dependent on other people. It's just the way punk bands used to do it back in the day—write a song, record it right away with cheap recording equipment in the bedroom, and upload the music to online services or sell home-made copies. Musically, Oppstøt sits somewhere between The Ramones and The Misfits, with a blend and hint of old '50s rock and roll, but you can also hear a clear Green Day inspiration in there.
