Joey Nelson

Joey Nelson is a singer, songwriter, and music producer born in Miami, Florida, and raised in Little Haiti. He began studying piano at age 11 (2004), and by age 13 (2006) he started learning music production and songwriting more seriously. At age 14 (2007), he began recording himself, laying the groundwork for his development as an artist. Influenced early by Michael Jackson, Joey’s approach to music has been shaped by performance, arrangement, and emotional detail in songwriting. His work sits primarily between R&B and pop, with a focus on melody-driven writing and layered production. In 2017, he released his debut project R&B is Dead, originally produced and written by Tro Juei, with Joey credited as a co-producer and co-writer on the records. In 2022, he contributed background vocals to Ace Hood’s track “Glory,” expanding his work into collaborative projects outside his own catalog. Joey is currently an independent artist signed to Sirius WAV Records, continuing to develop his sound and build his catalog as a recording artist, songwriter, and producer.
