Jackson Browne

Over more than five decades, Jackson Browne has written and performed some of popular music’s most literate and moving songs. With landmark albums including Late For The Sky, The Pretender, Running On Empty and For Everyman, he has defined a style of songwriting marked by honesty, emotion and personal politics. A member of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame, Browne emerged from Los Angeles’ Laurel Canyon scene in the early 1970s. His 1972 self-titled debut included the Top 10 hit “Doctor My Eyes.” He went on to release 15 studio albums and four live collections, selling more than 22 million albums worldwide and earning seven GRAMMY nominations. His acclaimed catalog includes Lives In The Balance, I’m Alive, Looking East and his latest album, Downhill From Everywhere. Browne’s commitment to social and environmental justice has been equally central to his life and work. A co-founder of Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE), he helped organize the landmark 1979 “No Nukes” concerts and has received numerous humanitarian and environmental honors. “Racial, economic and environmental justice are at the root of all the issues we’re facing now,” says Browne. “Dignity and justice are the bedrock of everything that matters in this life.”
