Hijak MC

Study the blends, survey the ravers, slide into the mix like an assassin… Hijak MC understands the vibe implicitly and with empathy. Years on the frontline working for the biggest brands across the whole drum & bass spectrum have enabled him to step up on any style; as a host, hype man, rapper and recording artist. From his time in the jump-up trenches during the late 2000s, Liam Hijak Parkinson has flourished and evolved with drum & bass itself. Morphing, mutating, twisting and turning as quickly as the music; his versatile flow and energy can be put down to his musical youth. First on guitar and then as a DJ… Long before he picked up a mic. These explorations have created a rich palette and a deep understanding of music, arrangements and those perfect moments to enhance the alchemy. This not only allows him to direct dancefloors from Metalheadz to Spearhead, but has led to him releasing music on premiership labels, too. Gradually building a body of work since the mid 2010s, Hijak’s words have blessed the beats of artists such as Mindscape, Malux , Nymfo, Trex, Data 3 , Nami, Phentix and L 33 on the label likes of Echo Chamber, Flexout Audio, Dispatch, Eatbrain, Playaz, Program and C4C to name a few. Plenty more releases are expected as Hijak MC continues to mature into a deeper, thoughtful MC, carefully crafting lyrics with meaning that resonate on multiple levels. His studies and surveys continue.
