antinode

i started playing piano at age 4. did some theory and some lessons 'till i was 8, played in the church band for some time and did some talent shows while growing up. then i stopped for 20 years. life happened. wife. three kids. survival. lockdown changed that. had some spare money so bought some hardware, and just started playing. took a while to warm up again. and this project was born from all that. i do one take mostly, just improvising while the computer records whatever happens. no edits, unless i really hit four very dissonant notes because my fingers were cold. i just sit and play. in physics, an antinode is the point of maximum amplitude in a standing wave; it is the place where the vibration is most intense. this project is an attempt to inhabit that point, the space where the "plan" fails and the instinct takes over. this project is currently slowed down quite a bit while I explore other genres under Jarp. but if the moment strikes and the piano flows, it will be put here so i know where to find it. if this music means anything to you, i'd like to know about it :-) you can find me here: www.jarp.one
