Biography & Metadata

** Debut album ‘The Rediffusion Times’ was released on 13th August 2025 and was one of Old Indie Kid's Albums of 2025. Lead single Strawberry Lemonade was Newport City Radio’s Record of the Week and also featured in the Indie100 Cup of 2025 ** Blackwood Rediffusion: homespun indie, influenced by Brighton and the Welsh valleys. A meld of acoustic and fuzzy electric guitars, and ear-worm synths. With lyrics that mean something. The Rediffusion project started in earnest in Easter 2024 with the release of debut EP ‘Songs in 24 Time’. After a run of summer singles (including Hope & Ruin, inspired by the legendary Brighton music pub), a second EP (‘Better Days’) followed, which expanded the Rediffusion sound to include West-coast acoustic rock, 80’s indie synth-pop, organ-soaked ballads and pub-rock stomps. Third EP ‘Haunted by Ghosts’ was released in March 2025, and included the synth-driven Original Sinner. Blackwood Rediffusion have been played on various shows, including The Pure Local, Pure Local Extra, Breakfast and Indie Shows on Newport City Radio, The Pete Jones Show on Brighton’s Radio Reverb, Kaysha Louvain’s Welsh Hour, The Welsh Connections Playlist Show, The Scene on SA Radio Live, Radio Wigwam Indie Jukebox, Bro Radio, & Uncle Funkbeard’s Indie Showcase. Rediffusion singer/songwriter/producer Jared has been interviewed on Radio Reverb and Newport City Radio. He also sings in eighties to noughties indie covers band The Fishing Trip and acts with ThePlayGroup.
