Scrimshire

Adam Scrimshire began making music at 14, recording his first DIY album on an Amiga 500 in 1994. After moving to London in the late 90s to study audio engineering, he signed to Wah Wah 45s in 2006, releasing three albums including The Hollow, named one of Gilles Peterson's albums of the year in 2011. After a six-year hiatus, he returned in 2019 with Listeners on his own Albert's Favourites label, collaborating with Georgia Anne Muldrow, Emma-Jean Thackray and Madison McFerrin. Believers Vol. 1 followed, featuring Omar, K.O.G. and Penya. In 2021 Nothing Feels Like Everything was nominated for Album of the Year at Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Awards and The Guardian named Scrimshire one of three crucial soul-music producers in the UK alongside Inflo and Swindle. The Music for Autumn Lovers project followed, first as an EP of four songs plus interludes, before expanding into a full-length album. His ninth album, Bring Our Light To Every Corner (2026): an unhurried hybrid of spiritual jazz, folk, soul and chamber pop was awarded ★★★★ in MOJO, while NTS's Patrick Forge praised its “harmony, texture, space, memorable themes and sublime abstractions”, describing it as somewhere between Pentangle and David Axelrod. Across nine albums, Scrimshire's music has always been concerned with listening — to people, places, memory and the spaces between genres.
