Mirla

Mirla is the solo project of Emily Mirla Harrison, Australian neo-classical pianist, musician and film composer Mirla blends classical form with contemporary elements of minimalism, electronica and experimental. Captivating piano is flourished in strings, subtle rhythm, field recordings, celestial vocals and sophisticated soundscapes. The immersive music flows from tentative, introverted piano pieces to dramatic, cinematic and uplifting movements. “Solitaire is a meditation on the virtues of patience, resilience and stoicism; remedies for loved ones separated by war. Inspired by my grandparent’s war diaries and letters, I explore a young woman’s psychological drama as she waits for news of her sweet-heart sailorboy, lost at sea” – Emily Mirla Harrison.
