Joby Jay is a talented Jamaican artist with a soulful sound and a passion for Reggae, Jazz, and Afrobeats. Her style is influenced by Jah9, Nina Simone, and Lauryn Hill, but she isn't limited by any particular genre. Her journey began in 2019 and gained momentum after her performance at Unplgd, where she delivered an unforgettable Vybz Kartel Medley. In December 2019, Joby Jay released her debut single "Big Girl Ting," which immediately caught the attention of fans and critics alike. Despite the challenges of 2020, she continued to thrive and collaborate on a Swiss compilation project, producing a track called 'Queen.' Additionally, she performed at various online events such as Kingston Creative and Harry J Live Couch Series to engage with her fans. Her talent was rightfully recognized when she was awarded the VM Wealth Breakthrough Artiste of the Year 2022 at the JaRIA Awards. Joby Jay has since released more singles and performed alongside artists such as Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid, Nadine Sutherland, Tessellated, Judy Mowatt, Sevana, Brian McKnight and others.
