Chaka Boy

Chaka Boy (born Brady Hughes, formerly known as D-vice) is a Calgary-based underground rapper, co-founder of the hip-hop collective Cold Camp, and owner of Otherworldly Comics. He first gained coast-to-coast recognition in the Canadian underground scene as a founding member of Dirty Crew during his early years in Vancouver, BC, appearing as a guest on countless independent projects between 2003-2015. He was also heavily integrated with the Port Authority crew, a notable collective that showcased top-tier Canadian & American underground lyricists. After rebranding, he leaned heavily into gritty boom-bap, collaborating extensively with Calgary producer The Dirty Sample, releasing two Cold Camp albums: We Hate Summer (Mo Gravy Records) and Winter Dreamz (Hand'Solo Records), the latter on the Earshot college radio charts for over four months. Today, Chaka Boy seamlessly bridges Canadian hip-hop culture with creative entrepreneurship on a quest for greatness.
