Biography & Metadata

iLLBiLLY HiTEC were one of the pioneers of reggaetronics. Ten years of touring, hundreds of concerts in 34 countries, and dozens of releases have transformed iLLBiLLY HiTEC into perhaps Germany's most interesting offbeat export. Live instruments blend with electronics, thick basses, offbeats, and catchy melodies to create a set that combines the energy of a traditional band show with the flow and variety of a DJ set. Collaborations with artists from all over the world blurred all musical boundaries. Between 2008 and 2019, the crew regularly released vinyl singles, EPs, and three albums that blazed a trail through the scene. These likeable tinkerers also developed their talents at hundreds of shows across Europe, Asia, and North and South America. They quickly landed on the lineups of renowned festivals such as Fusion, Summerjam, Uprising, Boomtown Fair, Havanna World Music, and Rototom Sunsplash. SEEED also took notice and ordered the only official remix of their number 1 hit "Augenbling" in 2013. A final vinyl release, a "Best Of - Remixed" album, will follow in 2026. The band will also tour for one final time. Concerts in Mexico and Europe are planned with the old (and best) lineup: Longfingah on mic, Alex on drums, Selektor Bony on controls, and Jörn on bass. The "Best Of Show" will be expanded to include new productions from their follow-up project La Gorda Dubs. In addition to the familiar sounds of reggae, dub, and bass music, there will also be plenty of cumbia.
