Born as Losa Amara Meru in Los Angeles, California, LosA was raised in the suburbs to a Filipina mother and Northeast Indian father. LosA grew up singing soprano in the children’s church choir from age 4-16, became the head drum major and president of her high school marching band as a clarinet player, and also played mellophone for Impulse, the open class drum and bugle corps. While attending Syracuse University and earning a Bachelor’s degree in TV-Radio-Film, LosA played mellophone for the Sour Sitrus Society, attended concerts in the underground student-run music scene, and co-hosted a college radio show called “Eclectic Feels” where she spun 2010s indie music. LosA returned to Los Angeles in 2018 and began her singer-songwriter career in 2022 with her first self-released single "obscurrity," which was described as cinematic, glistening, and jazzy from indie music blog Obscure Sound. Teaming up with psychedelic pop producer Brian Squillace from LANNDS, she followed up with "YOU ARE HER.E" in 2024, a 6-song EP that weaves her ethereal soprano vocals, unique harmonies, and poetic lyricism into a more indie pop focused lane. Trusting her eclectic music taste, LosA continues to create music that highlights her dreamy vocals and intuitive songwriting across any genre.
