Atomic Cherry

Atomic Cherry is the Istanbul-based project of Ece, a self-producing artist who writes, sings, records, mixes and masters everything on her own. She doesn’t stay in one genre, because her songs don’t come from one place. Debut single “Somewhere in Between” is a slow, dreamy alt-pop song about feeling stuck between who you are and who you want to become. Its follow-up, “Social Skills” (out 30 October), trades the haze for a sharper edge: a dark, soulful alt hip-hop track about social masks, people-pleasing and finally saying what you mean. Different sounds, the same voice: intimate, honest and a little bit uncomfortable in the best way.
