Biography & Metadata

Founded in 2020 by visionary songwriter and bassist Numba9ne, Octavate began as a bold solo project. With the addition of powerful vocals of friend and local artist SV, the debut album “Better Never Than Late” captured the spirit of experimentation and melodic depth that set Octavate apart from the start. As Octavate’s journey progressed, Ian Kaloyanides, Ken Cerreto, and David Jamison joined for the second album, “I’m The Machine,” contributing their talents to select studio tracks. But these musicians made their biggest mark on stage, amplifying Octavate’s genre-blending sound and dynamic performances. The band’s energy quickly earned them recognition, including a nomination for Best Hard Rock and Metal Act at the New England Music Awards in 2023. After the second album, the lineup shifted, yet the spirit endured. David Jamison and Numba9ne’s songwriting evolved together —now featuring keys and richer textures. The newest chapter introduces acclaimed vocalist Tanya Venom of Stormstress, known for electrifying performances alongside legends like Melissa Etheridge and Liz Borden, and opening for Bon Jovi, Nita Strauss, Burning Witches, and Lita Ford. Tanya’s commanding vocals, paired with David’s added songwriting, keys and drumming, and Numba9ne’s distinctive bass and baritone, drive Octavate’s latest album in a daring new direction while staying true to their unique sound.
