Saint Levant

Genre-twisting, multilingual, and multicultural singer/rapper Saint Levant blends together select parts of his diverse personal background for a smooth, easygoing style that looks nostalgically to 2000s rap and R&B production while still being very much a product of the social media age. His earliest tracks earned almost overnight visibility with the help of an enthusiastic online following, and viral singles like 2022's trilingual romance rap "Very Few Friends" led to his 2023 debut EP, From Gaza, With Love. Saint Levant was born Marwan Abdelhamid in Jerusalem, growing up in the Gaza Strip and Jordan before relocating to California to pursue higher education. In 2020 he released his first singles, "Jerusalem Freestyle" and "Nirvana in Gaza," each of which garnered lots of attention on various social media platforms. Multiple singles followed over the next few years, as did a collaborative EP with Egyptian R&B vocalist Bayou entitled Here and There. However, it was his 2022 single "Very Few Friends" that truly put Saint Levant on the map; with a charming and laid-back blend of 2000s rap production and loverboy lyrics that switched between English, French, and Arabic, it was a viral smash, amassing tens of millions of streams in a very short time. From there, he released further singles "I Guess" and "FaceTime" before issuing his first EP, From Gaza, With Love.
