Ole Morten Vågan

Ole Morten Vågan is known as one of Scandinavia’s most prolific bass players and composers. Ever versatile, he is as likely to be seen playing with players from the Berlin and Sthlm improv scenes with The Deciders, as together with fellow musical madmen Stian Carstensen and Ola Kvernberg in the genrebending Gammalgrass trio, or stepping in with the Joshua Redman Trio for a tour. He first came into the public eye with his band Motif as well as with Bugge Wesseltofts New Conception of Jazz in the early 2000 ́s, and is heard on about a hundred different recordings over the years. Vågan has also been the artistic director for the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra since 2017.
