Biography & Metadata

Tommy Antonio is a Scottish composer, songwriter, lyricist, and multi-instrumentalist whose music moves between intimate folk, alt-pop, and the grand emotional sweep of musical theatre. With longtime collaborator Dom James he forms Shaker Neon, whose alt-pop has been heard on BBC Radio 1. Together they also wrote and produced the Little People, BIG DREAMS album, based on the multi-million-selling children's book series — bringing to life some of history's greatest figures for young listeners around the world. His soundtrack work spans animation and film across Europe and beyond. In 2022 he composed the score for Julian Briceño's multi-award-winning Basque animation Testimonio, and his plaintive folk melodies feature on award-winning screenwriter and director James Cawood's short film Summer's Child. Earlier credits include Focus (2016), directed by Hong Kong filmmaker Mo Lai Yan Chi, and The Refuge (2017), directed by Maria Millan. Alongside his recording work, Tommy is one of the UK's most distinctive voices in musical theatre — with original musicals developed at Edinburgh Festival Theatre, in the West End, and at leading new musical development programmes across the UK and US. His musical Highlanders won the Musicals Hub Award, and his Pinocchio adaptation PIN, with composer Marc Teitler (The Grinning Man) and director Natalie Abrahami, is in development with West End producers Hartshorn & Hook.
