Gambit

Hey, I'm Gambit. Welcome to my page, thanks for stopping by. I like singing, rapping, and shaking my ass on stage (not necessarily in that order.) I'm from Middletown, Connecticut USA. I love way too many genres to commit to a single style, so you might hear influences in my music ranging from funk to hardcore, oldschool to jazz, trap to pop, disco to blues, but fundamentally I think of myself as a hip-hop artist. I’m always experimenting with different sounds and styles. I’m an independent artist all the way down. I’m self-taught, self-funded, and shamelessly self-promoting. I learned how to write by being bad at it for 10 years, which is incidentally how I learned to dance and sing as well. I have no record label helping me - I run this show myself. All my songs are fully written and performed by me. My friend ZTK produces a lot of the beats I use, and he records & mixes everything I put out. I'm 31 years old right now, but we've been working together since I was 18. Some favs include (in no particular order) Tyler, The Creator, MF DOOM, Kendrick Lamar, Aesop Rock, SZA, Prof, Sophie Hunter, Doja Cat, Mac Miller, Masego, Tobe Nwigwe, Chance the Rapper, Eyedea & Abilities, Nujabes, and far too many others to list.
