No one seems to know who hides behind the mysterious abbreviation. Although a certain Mr. Sascha Dornhöfer is sometimes credited as the creator of the sounds secreted by pdqb, this seems highly unlikely. The Wire asked Mr. Dornhöfer whether he would be pdqb and the answer was: "No, I am definitely not a member of the Piping and Drumming Qualifications Board! And Sascha Dornhöfer is not even my name, you must be confusing me with someone else." Then his voice suddenly changed into incomprehensible machine noises, then again into a fairy voice that said pdqb was an alien parasite with the ability to possess human bodies and that pdqb was spastically paralyzed in relation to time and space and that he goes on a creative spree in the multiverse of awesomeness. Finally, the man the reporter thought was Sascha Dornhöfer started crying "Ein Perzeptiverdampfkesselqualmtbesinnlich!" hysterically and ran away.
