Biography & Metadata

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Grace Kay is an indie-pop artist whose music explores identity, relationships, femininity, and the uneasy space between who we are and who we perform ourselves to be. A graduate of USC’s acting program, Kay brings a deep understanding of character and storytelling to her songwriting, turning the roles she’s played in relationships and professional environments into sharp, self-aware pop. Her sound pairs refined, punchy synth-pop production with syncopated rhythms and lush vocal textures, blending emotional vulnerability with a playful, often darkly funny edge. Her music has earned coverage from The Guardian, LADYGUNN, Galore, METAL, Under the Radar, Atwood, Ones To Watch, and KCRW, with official Spotify playlist placements on Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds: Pop and syncs on ABC’s A Million Little Things, CBS’s True Lies, and MTV’s West Coast Hustle. Following her debut album Grace’s Gospel, an exploration of the women and relationships that shaped her, Kay’s sophomore album FALL FROM GRACE turns the lens inward. Written over five years, the nine-track record examines romance, work, femininity, self-image, and the pressure to become the “perfect woman.” Rather than simply blaming the people or environments around her, Kay interrogates her own role in losing touch with her values, asking where adaptation ends and authenticity begins.
