Steve Chowne

Discover what's behind all these notes on stevechowne.uk Steve Chowne is a musician with an itchy seat. Trained as a violinist, pianist and flautist in his much younger years, he'll get a tune out of most things he picks up.. The most recent thing he's picked up is a trumpet so he can write better for brass by being better informed. An active player in multiple orchestras, chamber groups, and his rock band Blue Powder of more decades he can remember, he gets his kicks from finding a good tune, and then finding a way to share it with the world through his writing and his many collaborations. Enjoy rummaging around the discography. Much of its sheet music is available on stevechowne.uk. If there is something not yet published, ask him. He'd like that. Image: Steve's violin, made in Clerkenwell, London in about 1711. He's been playing this instrument for fifty years and it probably needs new strings.
