Maukele Within

Hawaii-rooted Maukele Within makes music for healing — folk, piano, hip-hop gospel, meditation, jazz, flamenco — whatever the inside work needs. Maukele Within is one of five sister projects from Maukele Music, a Hawaii-rooted independent label dedicated to music as a path — inward, earthward, sacred, cultural, and communal. This project holds the inward path: music made specifically for self-care, emotional processing, and the quiet discipline of becoming more present to your own life. The catalog spans an intentional range. Acoustic folk songs like Rise Gentle Soul and My Feelings Lead Me Home offer a hand in difficult moments. Piano ballads — Simple Kindness, The One, Leaning In — hold grief and gratitude with equal care. Untethered Soul and Growing move through hip-hop gospel with the energy of release. Joy and Sorrow unfolds across flamenco and Latin pop, surfacing in Spanish as Alegría y Pena. Seeing the Beautiful finds its footing in jazz. Dub Slippin' grooves. And the full meditation series — Presence Meditation, Breathing Meditation, Peaceful Presence Meditation — offers guided sound for breath, stillness, and somatic grounding. Every genre choice serves the same intention: to meet the listener wherever they are in the work of healing. Rooted in the Aloha spirit. Based in Virginia.
