Dina Maccabee

Songwriter, composer, and instrumentalist Dina Maccabee blends strings, voice, and finely crafted electronics into unexpected sonic worlds. Audiences respond to the stripped down poetry of her deeply emotional songs, from playful to yearning, whether clothed in looped and processed viola, fingerstyle guitar, or a cappella. As a "side-person," Dina has toured and recorded with respected artists like Julia Holter, tUnE-yArDs, Feist, Shearwater, and Loma, bringing her signature viola and voice to influential projects in the United States and Berlin. Dina's own recordings layer strings, vocals, and electronics into an unmistakeable, expressive cinematic soundscape, when producing her own songs or composing for media including the award-winning podcast Hysterical. Her evocative and inventive scores take advantage of her unique palette of classical, folk, and synthesized sounds, building an unmistakeable sound that feels at once expansive and deeply personal.
