Sunny Cowell

Sunny Cowell is a singer, songwriter, and musician (guitar, viola) based in the Baltimore-Washington D.C. region. Sunny’s music is a mix of well-crafted Pop and R&B paired with catchy melodies, beats, multi-harmony vocals, acoustic instruments, a soulful lead vocal, and heartfelt lyrics (stylistically Jill Scott meets Sara Bareilles). In 2022 Sunny released her debut LP Anthology of Love. The 10-song project explores the theme of learning to love oneself while coping with anxiety as one navigates different types of relationships. A subtle exploration of mental health challenges, how they manifest in the way we view ourselves and love others is a gratifying, yet unexpected challenge for a pop album like Sunny’s. Sunny releases new singles regularly. Sunny’s airplay and radio interviews include KPFA-FM Radio Berkeley CA, WKCR- FM Columbia University NYC, WPFW-FM Washington DC, WYPR-FM and WEAA-FM in Baltimore MD. Recent performances include An Die Muzik (Baltimore), The Village Vanguard (NYC), Howard University (DC), The Contemporary Art Museum (Baltimore), The Baltimore Museum of Art, Smoke Jazz Club (NYC), Keystone Korner Baltimore, Motor House (Baltimore), the Center Club Baltimore, BLK Swan, Fleet Week Fest 2022, the Cherry Hill Music Fest (2022 and 2023), Artscape, Sagamore Pendry Baltimore.
