Suat Soyyiğit

Suat Soyyiğit is an architect and composer based in Istanbul. His music is instrumental and guitar-led: a melody carries the story, and low tunings, drums with an acoustic character, shifting metres and wide spaces are built around it. The pieces move like wordless stories — some walk in shadow, most open toward hope — from an acoustic beginning to harmonized leads and expressive solos, and then to silence. For him architecture is not an image placed around the music but a way of ordering proportion, tension and space. His album A Structure for Falling Light, seven pieces written in 2024–2025, was released on 2 October 2026. Yelkovan Yolu is his field-recording and composition project built around twenty-four places in Istanbul, each listened to in its own hour. Suat Soyyiğit, İstanbul'da yaşayan bir mimar ve bestecidir. Müziği enstrümantaldır ve melodiyi gitar taşır; düşük akortlu tonlar, akustik karakterli davul, değişen ölçüler ve geniş boşluklar bu melodinin çevresinde kurulur. Sözsüz parçalar birer hikâye gibi ilerler: kimi gölgede yürür, çoğu umuda açılır; akustik bir başlangıçtan harmonize gitarlara ve ifadeli sololara, oradan sessizliğe uzanır. Mimarlık onun için müziğin çevresine konan görsel bir tema değil; oranı, gerilimi ve boşluğu düzenleme biçimidir. 2024–2025'te yazdığı yedi parçalık albümü A Structure for Falling Light 2 Ekim 2026'da yayımlandı. Yelkovan Yolu, İstanbul'un yirmi dört mekânını kendi vakitlerinde dinleyen saha kaydı ve beste projesidir.
