Francis Sunny Ewa, professionally known as SUNNYNINE, began singing in church as a child in Lagos. He developed a deep love for music, inspired by the evolution of Afrobeats from the mid-2000s to the 2010s. Influenced by icons like Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Runtown, SUNNYNINE blends Afrobeat with R&B, Dancehall, and global sounds, crafting a style that is both classic and contemporary. SUNNYNINE’s artistry gained traction when his unreleased single, "Distance Omo," started making waves on TikTok. A video he created at a friend's art exhibition caught the attention of British music group NSG, who co-signed the "fire record." This recognition was a major career milestone before the song even released. His growing visibility continued with invitations to perform at AFRONATION and the GUAP Gala, sharing the stage with major names. For SUNNYNINE, being recognized by such established platforms at this stage is both humbling and motivating. Currently, SUNNYNINE is entering his "new wave" era, fully embracing his artistry and visibility. With a strong team, he is intentional about connecting with his audience.
