Dimitri Artemenko

Born in Tallinn during the Soviet era and trained in the Estonian classical violin tradition, Dimitri Artemenko moved to Paris in 1992 to study under Serge Pérévozov and Berry Hayward. A versatile violinist and composer, he seamlessly navigates between classical, medieval, contemporary, jazz, rock, world music, and improvisation. ​He composes and records for film and television (Canal+, France 3, France 5) and collaborates with a wide array of artists, including Féloche, Estas Tonne, Darya Dadvar, Tama (Real World), the Berry Hayward Consort, and Kumpania Zelwer. ​Dimitri won first prize at the Rimusicazioni Film Festival (International Silent Film Music Competition) in Bolzano, Italy, for one of his original scores. He also develops numerous cine-concerts alongside his longtime collaborator Vadim Sher, notably performed at the Philharmonie de Paris. ​"Musiques pour ascenseur en panne" ​Musiques pour ascenseur en panne (Music for a Broken Elevator) is a neo-classical and cinematic album by Estonian composer Dimitri Artemenko.
